SHELLY ORGAN - BASSOON
Shelly studied at Cambridge University and then as a postgraduate scholar at the Royal College of Music with Martin Gatt.

Since graduating from the RCM in 2002 with distinction, Shelly has combined a solo career (giving recitals at St.Martin-in-the-Fields, the Linbury Theatre of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Aldburgh Fesitival) with a post as principal bassoonist of the Southbank Sinfonia (2002 - 2003), freelance orchestral playing and teaching. She was recently on trial with Glyndebourne Touring Opera Orchestra and also with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She was awarded the Antony Saltmarsh Junior Fellowship at the Royal College of Music during 2003 - 2005.

With assistance from The Felicity Belfield Music Trust, Shelly performs on a Püchner bassoon.

DAVID MILLER - CLARINET
David read music at the University of Huddersfield before studying for his Masters at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He now lives in Cardiff with his wife and Yorkshire Terrier, where he combines teaching with freelance orchestral playing and chamber music.

GILLIAN TAYLOR - OBOE
Gillian studied the oboe at the Royal College of Music for four years, and has been freelancing ever since. Now based in Cardiff, she is the oboe player for Opera Box, principal oboe of The Chamber Orchestra of Wales, and plays regularly with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera, and with numerous other orchestras throughout the UK.

ALISON CHARLTON WEST - SOPRANO
Born in Dundee, Alison studied at the Royal College of Music. Whilst there, she won a Countess of Munster Scholarship, the Giulia Grizi Prize and the College's Opera School Prize. Alison has worked with English National Opera, Kent Opera and many smaller companies and her work has taken her to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany and Spain. She has also sung at the Saltzburg Festival and in Florence, Batignano and Sienna with Musica nel Chiostro. She created the role of Susan in Tower by Alun Hoddinott for Opera Box, and is a regular member of the Opera Box company.

BRENDAN WHEATLEY - HERR EMANUEL SCHIKANEDER
Brendan studied at The Guildhall College of Music and Drama and on leaving was immediately offered a contract with Glyndebourne Festival Opera where he sang for three seasons. He has sung over 20 major roles, not only from the standard Baritone repertoire but also Bank Account Billy in Kurt Weill's Mahagonny (Graham Vick's production), and he created the role of Figaro in the world premiere of Giles Swayne's Le Nozze di Cherubino. Brendan and his wife Bridgett are co founders and Directors of Opera Box which tours throughout the UK.
