Ever since opera became a public form of entertainment, it has relied on the generosity of patrons, and latterly of sponsors, to keep it financially viable.
Every friend of Opera Box is an invaluable asset to the company. By supporting us on a regular basis your contributions provide vital funds for the company's Education and Community work, and towards the cost of non-funded productions.
The Friends already fund :
workshops for schools, community groups and talented amateur singers, with help from grant-making trusts and sponsors;
an annual scholarship for a student on The Opera School (Wales) course, an organisation which is closely connected with Opera Box;
and they make a donation towards the cost of the scenery and costumes of each new Opera Box production.
However, Opera Box's partnership with its Friends goes deeper than that. You can help us by displaying or distributing publicity material, finding new Friends or organising groups of Friends in your area to come to social events specially arranged for the Friends of Opera Box.
You will find there are many ways to get involved, and you could find that playing an active part in the future of Opera Box could grow into one of the most rewarding aspects of your leisure time
